Privacy policy

Vidzipo is designed so that your videos never leave your device. This policy covers the data that the site actually collects — analytics and advertising only, never the contents of your files.

Videos and file data

All compressions run in your browser (via WebAssembly + FFmpeg). The videos you drop, the output files produced, the internal metadata (duration, codec, size) are never sent to a server, logged, or analysed. None of this information can be accessed by Vidzipo or any third party outside your device.

Analytics data

We use a privacy-friendly analytics tool (Plausible Analytics, hosted in the EU). The events transmitted are limited to aggregated indicators:

  • event type (file dropped, compression started, done, error);
  • preset chosen (Discord, WhatsApp, email, etc.);
  • size and duration buckets (never the exact value);
  • technical error code (E-01 through E-09), no user detail.

Plausible uses no cookies and does not store any persistent identifier. See the cookies pagefor the full list.

Advertising

The site shows ads via Google AdSense. These ads require the placement of advertising cookies subject to your consent, collected through a CMP (Consent Management Platform) certified IAB TCF v2.2 on your first visit. Without consent, no personalised ads are loaded. You can change your choices at any time from the banner at the bottom of the page or from the cookies page.

Error reporting

To improve the service, technical errors (compression failures, engine crashes) may be reported anonymously to our error-tracking tool (Sentry, EU-hosted). No file contents, no file names, no user identifier is sent — only the error code (E-XX) and the internal technical message.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection over data concerning you. To exercise these rights, write to: [email protected]. You will receive a reply within one month at most.

Changes

This policy may be updated to reflect service or legal changes. The date of the last revision is shown at the bottom of the page.
